About
Conecuh Bridge & Engineering, Inc. (CBE) was founded in March of 2003 by Jeff Pollard, Tommy Friday, and Frank Murphree. This combination brought together over 50 years of combined experience in the precast concrete bridge and construction industries. Later that same year in June, James Sparrow was hired as the plant manager. James had worked with Jeff and Tommy prior to that, and his hire brought another 5+ years of experience to the company.
The first 5-7 years presented difficult challenges, but CBE showed its resiliency by remaining profitable, even during the 2008 recession. A few years later in 2013, Jeff retired, and James took his place as partner. Under the leadership of Tommy, James, and Frank, the company continued to grow and thrive through the 2010’s and into the early 2020’s. At that time, Tommy began considering retirement and events were set in motion to hire his son, Chad Friday, to take his place. Chad began working for CBE in April 2021 and brought 15+ years of engineering experience to the company. He was hired as a project engineer and estimator and took over as partner for Tommy upon his retirement 2 years later in May 2023.
